Where the East meets West
The Maurya Group of Restaurants has been serving Toronto authentic Indian cooking since 2001.
Two decades of home-blend spice
Welcome to Mother India Roti — part of the Maurya Group of Restaurants and a fixture of Toronto's dining scene since 2001. We bring together tradition, flavour and warmth for a truly authentic Indian experience, celebrating the rich culinary heritage of both North and South India.
Our Queen Street West kitchen has served the neighbourhood for years, and is considered by many the best place for Indian roti in the area — perhaps the city. Guests travel from across the GTA to feed their craving for our signature rotis, curries and biryanis.
Every dish is a tribute to authentic home-style cooking. We grind and balance our own home-blend spices in-house, cook fresh to order, and keep everything 100% preservative-free — nothing artificial, just honest flavour and a touch of love, exactly like an Indian household.
From slow-simmered curries and fragrant biryanis to fiery Indo-Chinese Hakka, our menu is truly where the East meets West. Today you'll find us at two Toronto kitchens — our Queen Street West flagship and our St Clair Avenue location in York.
