India isn't one cuisine — it's dozens. At Mother India Roti our menu draws from both the North and the South, so it helps to know what you're ordering.

The North: rich, creamy, tandoor-kissed

Northern Indian cooking leans on dairy, wheat and warming spices. This is the home of butter chicken, creamy korma, paneer makhani, rich dals and, of course, roti. If you like a mellow, buttery curry with bread to scoop it up, start here.

The South: coconut, curry leaf and heat

Southern cooking is lighter, tangier and often spicier, built on coconut, tamarind and rice. On our menu you'll taste it in dishes like our Madras curries — simmered in South Indian spices and coconut milk.

And a little East-meets-West

We also serve Toronto's beloved Hakka Indo-Chinese and even fusion poutines. It's all part of the same idea: honest, home-style Indian food, made fresh with our own spices. New to the menu? A safe first order is butter chicken with roti, plus a chilli chicken to share.
